Club Class Concierge Ltd
On 14th November 2012, Grant Thornton plc were appointed liquidators of Club Class Concierge plc and seven other Club Class Companies.
This company had sold “holiday club” memberships in a similar format to Incentive Leisure Group plc, and the instructions to close the company down were issued by Vince Cable, who at the time was Secretary Of State for Business, Innovation and Skills. During the hearing where the application to have the company liquidated was held, a director of Club Class admitted that the opportunity for consumers to reclaim monies via their “cashback scheme” was similar to an entry in a “spot the ball” competition.
