BBC’s “Rip Off Britain” (S7 E6) has recently reported on some of the latest timeshare related scams operated in Tenerife and even saved one couple from falling victim to a “scam” whilst filming the programme!

How does the Tenerife timeshare scam work?

Have you recently been invited by a company to a free weeks holiday in Tenerife and to a meeting to discuss recovering your lost money?

Companies such as Island Breaks, Arrow Travel Solutions, Luxury Leisure Group, Planet Sunlight Travel or Claim Your Claim are inviting timeshare owners to a meeting in Tenerife to discuss how to claim your money back?

• Were you told that this company specialised in helping customers to reclaim from the banks the money which had been spent on mis-sold timeshares?
• Did they guarantee that they would get all your money back, working on a “no win no fee” basis and charge a fixed % on the successful completion of your claim?
• Were you lured into believing that you were dealing with a reputable claims management company, only to find that they were actually selling another form of “holiday club” claiming to offer cheap holidays?
• Were you kept at their offices for a long time?
• Did you end up signing documents which had nothing to do with a refund claim?
• Have you ever purchased a timeshare, fractional ownership or holiday club membership?
• Were you told that you would have to pay thousands of pounds of money to register/process your claim using a credit card or by taking out a loan?
